8 Blogging Tips To Write the Best Blog Post.

8 Blogging Tips for Beginners.

Congratulations on setting up your website. Are you ready to write and publish your first blog post? It is the best way to establish your presence online. And good thing is that I've put up 8 blogging tips to help you write the best blog post. You see, putting up a blog post can be very easy if you have a knack for words. However, it can also be a daunting task, even if you are a savvy writer.

There is a whole lot of work that goes into putting up a great blog post. From quality content, SEO to SMO, and so much more

But, writing a blog post shouldn't be hard. All you need is a punchy title, a powerful body, and a compelling conclusion. And I will take you how to do the rest of the work like Search Engine Optimization.

Okay, let me take you on a step by step guide on how to write a compelling blog post that goes viral the moment it goes live.

Bloggin tip #1-know your audience well before writing any blog post.

Knowing your audience is significant. Before you hit that keyboard hard, ask yourself, "who am I writing to?"
Get to know what your readers need. Know their problems and try to answer them in your blog post. You will be doing zero work if you overlook this step.

If your ideal audience is new moms and experienced moms, try and answer things related to being a new mom and motherhood.

Take this case:

A new mom whose newborn baby is fussy will be scouring the web trying to find solutions to a crying new-born baby. So to help this desperate new mom, write a blog post that answers her questions.

For Example:

If you write on how to calm a one-month-old baby.

The new mom is most likely to find your blog post through a google search.

Tips on understanding your audience and help you write a blog post that resonates with them.

You probably thinking, "how do I understand my audience?"

Understanding your audience niches down to interacting with them and doing research.
This process doesn't have to be hard. There are so many ways to find the needs of your audience and leverage on those needs.

#Through social media.

Facebook, for example, has made it easier for people to group themselves according to their needs. There groups of different audiences.

If you are in the parenting niche and your blog revolves around parenting and raising kids, you can join parenting groups on facebook. Better yet, you can create a facebook group and let other parents join.

In these groups, ask questions or conduct research. Prepare a questionnaire and ask interested group members to help you answer them.

See the commonly asked questions by group members and tap on them. Use these questions to frame a blog post that will provide answers.

#Use google

People love Google when it comes to researching or simply "googling" as folks put it.

Let's use the parenting niche. If your blog is about parenting, raising kids and anything in between, type parenting on the google search bar.

Google will bring in results/links to other websites. And, it will also bring in commonly asked questions as you can see below.

These commonly asked questions are what parents are trying to find their solutions. Use them to understand them and frame a punchy blog post that will keep them glued to your post.

These commonly asked questions you see on Google search are also known as keywords, and this brings me to my second step; Keyword research.

Keyword(s) are the exact questions/phrases people key in on the Google search bar. This word helps Google search engines to bring in the ideal results in the feed.

Blogging Tip #2-Do keyword Research before writing a post.

Chances are this is your first post, and you have no idea what keywords are and how important they are.
Keywords are vital if you want to create a search engine optimized content.

Search Engine Optimization ( SEO) is tailoring your content for the organic searches. Writing content that will naturally appear on the front page of search engines whenever people key in the same keywords as those in your blog post in the search bar.

How to research keywords.

#Using Keyword research tools.

These are tools that help you understand more on keywords.

It helps you understand how the keywords rank, how many times itis searched and the number of websites ranking for that keyword.

Here are a few free keyword tools to help you with keyword analysis. These are the tool I use for my blog posts.

#Answer the public.

Answer the Public is a powerful tool when it comes to knowing what people are searching on the web.

You type in your keyword, and it bombards you with questions people have been asking through google and or Bing as shown below.

And here are the results of my keyword.

To add, it brings in ideas in the form of questions, prepositions, comparisons, and in alphabetical order.

Pick a good idea that you think would be a good fit for your audience.

Now that you have an idea on what you want to write about, it is time to find out how that keyword ranks and how many searches it receives a month. And this brings us to another stalwart keyword researcher.

#Ubersuggest.

Ubersuggest is a keyword research tool by NailPatel.com. I use this tool to determine how my keywords rank and how many sites are ranking for the same.

Ubersuggest is so easy to use and gives you a whole lot of results. It is up to you to determine the keyword to work on and get the best results.

Case study

I keyed in "Parenting" on ubersuggest's search bar and realized that that keyword receives more than 12,000 searches a month and the site that ranks for this keyword has more than 400 backlinks (I will talk about backlinks in my upcoming posts).

Check out the findings below.

Below the search volume graph, are keyword Ideas. Pick the keyword that has less number of Search Difficulty(SD). Such keywords will improve your ranking in the searches.

For more keyword ideas, press the button below the keyword ideas.

Now that you have the perfect keyword let's come up with a punchy title that will ignite your readers to open the post.

Blogging Tip #3-Write a catchy blog post title.

Catchy titles are like magnets. They pull your audience to read the rest of the blog post.

Want to write about calming a toddler? "How to calm a toddler" title is bland and won't trigger the "read more" in me.

But,

"1o tips to calm a toddler in 5 minutes" will excite me.

Rule of the thumb is; write a catchy title with benefits. Your reader should be able to know what's in the post through the title.

Blogging Tip #4-Write an action-packed body section of your blog post.

The body is the meaty part of your blog post. It should give your reader actionable tips. Also, the article's body should deliver the title's promises.

Show and don't tell. Direct your readers on what needs to be done to solve their problem.

Structure your post in a manner that the reader spends some time reading the post. By the time they are done reading the post, they should be able to nod their heads in unison with you.

Show your research skills in the body section. Don't write a bland text with no research backing it up. Show your readers where to get more information on that particular topic.

You do this by linking to reputable sites where you sourced the information. You will not only be showing the credibility of your posts but also the quality of your content.

You will gain trust and establish authority by positioning yourself as an expert and not a generalist who is trying to make money through content creation.

Blogging Tip #5-Break your body into bite-sized sections.

Kick blocky posts out of the window. Readers are on the run, and whoever is chasing them is a mystery to me. They want to skim, pick the essential notes and leave as fast as they came in.

Make use of the headings, bullets, numbering and white space to make reading easier.

Heading one (H1) goes for your main title. Use heading two(H2) on you main subtopics and H3, H4… in that order.

Use short paragraphs and avoid long ones at all costs.

Note also that many internet users use mobile phones. Statistics show that nearly three-quarters of the world will use smartphones to access the internet by 2025. Long paragraphs look terrible when viewed using a phone.

Blogging Tip #6-Use illustrations and Images in your blog post.

Images!Images!Images! I can't stress this much. Like I said earlier, show and don't tell. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Images not only make your posts appealing to the reader but also helps a bunch on SEO.

Use these images to expound more on your idea, create a lasting memory, and even to support your statements.

Images can be in the form of screenshots, graphics, photos, tables, charts, and infographics.

I love taking screenshots to use in my blog posts. I use Evernote to take awesome screenshots and Canvato design my Pinterest images.

Blogging Tip #7-Use engaging words and phrases in your blog post.

You are writing to your audiences, and you want them to pick valuable tips in your content.

Use engaging words and make them a part of your post. Avoid centring on yourself and talking much about you.

Use much of "You" in your blog posts and limit the "I."

Blogging Tip #8-Write a compelling conclusion to wrap your blog post.

An epic conclusion is a king here. Wrap all you post in one short paragraph and conclude by adding a call to action.

Ask your readers for feedback and or comments regarding your post. The comments in your blog post will give you a sneak pic on how well your post relates to your audience.

There you go! 8 Easy steps to create the best Blog Post.

Yaay! Eight crucial steps to help you write a great blog post that will turn your audience into raving fans.

I have to work on my blog titles. I found it interesting, that you used the examples you did, because I tend to shy away from the „good“ headings as a reader because I am so often disappointed. Still, I am willing to see what impact it has on my blog.
