In my case, I signed up for Travelista Club.

At first, I thought it was a scam. I learned about Travelista Club sometime in 2018, but I was skeptical about signing up at first. I didn't have a self-hosted blog nor the $16 I needed to set up one.

After setting up my website, I gave the travelista club a shot.

Signing Up For the Writer Training

I came across Travelista Writer Academy through google search engine. On the search bar, I keyed in the phrases "write for us," and Travelista popped on the first page. As you can see below.

They were offering $40 for 1000 word article! And to add icing on the cake, there is no experience required. As a newbie writer, I gave it a shot.

I clicked the link, and I landed on their website. To sign in, you must have at least one of the social media accounts.

In my case, I signed up using my facebook profile.

Travelista Writer Academy uses this technique to ensure that those who sign up for the training are real humans and not pseudo accounts or bots.

You should have a proper and active social media account.

After signing up, you will need to either ;

Submit a blog for review.
Create a new website.

If you own a blog, it MUST be a self-hosted blog like this one you are reading from with at least 5,000 words of writing content.

If you don't have a blog, Travelista will help you develop one from scratch. They will show you step by step on how to create one.

To add, you MUST follow their instructions to a Tee! Otherwise, your blog will be rejected.

Once you submit your blog for the review, they will send you an email confirming whether you've been accepted or rejected.

I was accepted into the academy. I logged in and started the training.

Wait, this is getting more interesting.

When you sign in after approval, there will be work waiting for you and fantastic learning resources for you to learn.

You will be assigned work, and you are expected to submit it on time.

I did not do the work immediately. I took the time to learn how the system works and read the available training resources.

I wrote a local travel guide and submitted it for a review. It was accepted!

I was happy. I couldn't wait to share my article.

Just like you, I thought I wouldn't get paid. On the contrary, this writer academy pay and I'm living proof of that.

I was paid on Friday as they had promised. I received 40 Australian dollars, which translated to Ksh 2600.

Writer Academy wants dedicated and quality writers who know their work. They have a system to evaluate every writer.

To qualify for more jobs, you must promote your first article through your blog and social media channels.
